for crying out loud

HELLO.

I just had the best day in forever and I wanna share the happiness please. Heehee.

So.

Today I woke up at 7 something, extremely early considering that it's a Saturday. My mom was already up too, facebooking (what else?). We lazed around for a bit, talked, and then we cleaned up the room. It's not exactly the most immaculate it's been right now but oh well, we tried. Sorta. Oh, and I hemmed my dress today! Feeling so proud of myself right now. Only problem was that I hemmed it at the wrong place and ended up having to pin it anyway. Hahahaha.

My mom and I left the house at around 11. The original plan was to go to Haji Lane first to check out the launch for Modparade at 12, look for my bag, shop a bit. Then grab some veggie lunch at Cafe Salivation in Little India, and finally, go to Sungei Road to look at the flea market. But leaving at 11 meant we would definitely miss the launch so we went for lunch first instead, which ended up being a better idea. Lunch was urgh so good. Vegetarian food rocks. My mom, an avid fan of meat, also says so. I ate quite a lot, so I had a latte to compensate for the sleepiness I would presumably get from my stomach over-working. Kind of worked :)

After lunch we walked to Sungei Road. There was nothing much there, but it was still fun. We saw a Buddha head we both liked, but we didn't get it lah. Would have caused quite a stir in the household I think, if we had. Walked to Haji Lane afterwards. I love that those three places were placed so nicely within walking distance.

At Haji Lane, we practically walked into every shop we saw. After a while, we found a backpack at Cosmic. Veh veh cute! So we got it. It was originally 60 dollars but my mom, who was chatting up all the friendly enough shopkeepers, managed to haggle the price. Got it at 52! XD Odd number, I know. Rachel, the girl working there, said 55 at first, then my mom asked for 50, 51, and Rachel said okay 52. She wished me happy birthday. Hahahah. Mabel from Victoria Jomo(and her husband) too! Heheheh. Oh, Mabel said I have a cool mom. Agreed. :D

We walked around some more and at Soon Lee I tried on their very killer heels. They were so cute but so the tall! Felt like I was walking on stilts, especially with the black platform stilleto cat thing. But heels make your legs look nice ^^

At about 5 o'clock, we went to Going Om for a drink. Their drinks are huge okay. So definitely worth the 5-7 dollar price tags, I'd say. After drinks I thought that I'd still like to get something for myself with my own cash, but the mother was lazy to get up so I left her for a while to go walk on my own. I got a tartan hairband from Soon Lee and this skirt from Sup. My mom added a bit cos the skirt cost more than what I had left so yeap. When I got back she was in a conversation with the guy minding the shop. Expected.

After Haji Lane we headed for Uncle Syam's house in Hougang. We watched Slumdog Millionaire. Alyaa made a card and got me a necklace. So sweet of her! Baby seth was cute as always. He was carrying this tiny bag around. It was some wedding berkat thingy and it was so small it looked like a miniature handbag! He carried my paper bags too. First the smaller one from Sup, and then the huge orange one from Cosmic that's almost as tall as that teeny boy. Yay my baby cuzzin is cute.

Sigh. I feel so good after a nice day of shopping.

The I'm-in-heaven-when-I'm-having-coffee mother.

Mother's coffee habits rubbing off on me it seems. I don't really like my face here but it doesn't matter. I have accepted it as a fact of life that I always get my faeceinto damn unglam pictures.

What was left of the brownie

Mother's tomato and herb smth-schetta. Must seriously learn how to make!

The yummy feta cheese burger for me :D

Going Om. Freaking dark in there alright. But very cosy, no doubt.

And the birthday presents before the brithday:

Hahahahah I loved today k bye.
