beneath the blue suburban skies

Heyyyyyy!

I'm sorry for not updating as often as I should, but I've been busy! This week was all mini campcraft sessions, dinners, homework, library, new year's, Soufi's house, and more homework.

Yesterday was a really enjoyable day. My family and I went to Soufi's place for New Year's. There was lots of talking and even more eating, even for me! Soufi's mom was awesome enough to make me a vegetarian lasagna and pizza yo. Hehehe.

Soufi is cool B) I realise we have a lot of similar interests, we like the same blogshops and stuff, AND WE BOTH LIKE SIGUR ROS! Do you know how difficult it is to find another Singaporean who actually appreciates the Icelandic amazingness of Sigur Ros?! Oh, and that reminds me! My mom's friend Aunty Rahimah, she does tarot card reading. So yesterday, Soufi and I asked if Sigur Ros would come this year and if we would get to go. We both drew our cards at the same time, and we both got really positive ones! I just hope this tarot card thing is reliable!

We asked this question when Aunty Rah was already tired out from doing the proper 6 card readings and told us to only ask yes/no questions and draw only one card. Before this, I managed to get the full reading and my question was really quite general : what would 2010 be like for me.

So I picked my 6 cards, and Aunty Rah opened them one by one. The first card, I forget what its name was, represents my personality or smth. It said I was cold. She asked me if I could relate to it, and I suppose I actually can! If you know me, you'd probably know I am not that friendly. I can be quite anti-social, and it takes me time to warm up to people I don't know. So far quite accurate. I've forgotten what the second card was, and I hate this, but let's move on to the next one. This one is supposed to be my obstacle for the year. It was Six of Swords, and Aunty Rahimah said it means that there'll be a betrayal in store for me. And the next few cards told me that I had to fight it and not succumb. That there'll be good in the end. The last card, which was the outcome, was Ace of Swords and this woman refused to show it to me at first, because she originally thought it meant that I would be stronger, but alone. Double-checking, she said that it's more likely that it means I'll be stronger, and that I'll be aware that I'll have to make decisions on my own. Oh, and interestingly, the characters on the Ace of Swords and the very first one, are exactly the same. Probably meaning that at the end of it all, I'll still be the same person.

The others got their turn, and then we asked the Y/N stuff.

Things I found out:
- I will not grow taller this year.
- I will stay a vegetarian longer than Aunty Rahimah (3/4 years)
- I will go to Sigur Ros with Soufi!!!
- I won't make better friends this year (because the ones I have are already awesome!! I'm keeping you guys close you know that ;D)
- I will marry twice
- I will marry a foreigner

The last two points were predicted by Aunty Niar, my mother's cousin's friend who can heal and stuff, a while back. She's from Brunei and is such a lovely personality. I really do miss her now that she's gone back. :'(

I don't know if I truly believe all this, but it's pretty convincing! Anyway, this is all in the name of fun so as Aunty Rah kept saying, I shall take this with a pinch of salt.

Okay. Today was spent on homework. Maths is about half done so I'm rather content. I still have quite a bit of other stuff, and I'm thinking of probably copying some of my new classmates' work when school opens. Hahaha what a way to make new friends. I think I'll continue with my Maths now.

Bye!
