Hello.

It honestly pays to go shopping with a mother who randomly strikes up conversations with shopkeepers. Saturday was spent roaming around Bugis and Orchard. My mother and the guy manning the Victoria Jomo store chatted for a good ten minutes as I browsed, and then in the end he decided to give us a $2 discount off this pair of extremely silly earrings. My new babies have got the iconic Mr Bean on them and are actually pretty stupid and yea but i still ♥! Hahahah. OK Haji Lane seriously has the most interesting little trinkets around.

In other news, I started on a painting yesterday! Been so long since I actually sat down and devoted a few hours of my day and energy to art. I've completely forgotten how much of an escape from the real world it is. You know, I tend to beat myself up over my art because I believe that a number of my past drawings/paintings have been more than ugly. But for now at least, positive thoughts? Check.

For perhaps the first time, I'm actually feeling good about this painting. As with everything else, I guess that the more you paint, the better you get. I'm really thankful that I now find it easier to draw faces, mix the right skin tones, create what I think could pass off as depth. I only hope I do not screw up this piece as I continue to work on it now.
